We spent two years building Goal Boss: software that finds your buyers, writes your outreach in your own voice, books your calls, rehearses your hard conversations, and chases the paperwork you keep forgetting. An operating system for a founder who is doing five jobs at once.
Then we did the obvious thing. We pointed it at ourselves.
The problem was us
We had the tools. We did not have a pipeline. It is the classic builder trap: you get so deep in the product that the selling never starts. So we made a rule. Nobody was allowed to do outbound by hand. If Goal Boss could not do it, it did not get done.
Here is exactly what happened.
Finding the people
We opened Pipeline and told it who we wanted: founders and owners of small marketing agencies in the US, two to twenty people. It came back with real names at real agencies, each with a verified email. We picked six. One click each, and they were in the CRM.
No scraping. No buying a list of ten thousand strangers and praying. Six people we actually wanted to talk to.
Writing like a human
This is the part most cold email gets wrong. It reads like a robot wrote it, because a robot did.
Goal Boss drafts every email on our own model, in the sender's real voice, then runs it through a hard filter that kills the tells: the em dashes, the fake pleasantries, the stiff corporate power-words, the robotic three-part lists. If a draft still sounds like a machine after three tries, it gets held for a person instead of sent.
We picked a stance too. Goal Boss carries the negotiation styles from our Parley app, so we chose Empathy-Led: understand the person's world before you ask for anything. Every draft opened with something true about that specific agency, made one point, and asked for one thing.
The honest part
We told them the truth inside the email: this note was found, dug into, and written by Goal Boss, not by a person at a keyboard. That is the pitch. If a machine can write a cold email that a busy founder actually wants to answer, picture what it does with the rest of your week.
Booking the call
Each email points at one link. When the founder clicks it, the booking page already has their name, their email, and their company, because Goal Boss did the research and carried it over. They fix anything wrong and pick a time. The call lands on the calendar with a video link, capped at two demos a day so we never overbook ourselves.
What this really is
People hear "AI for sales" and picture a spam cannon firing ten thousand messages an hour. This is the opposite. It is one person sending a handful of careful, real emails a day, with a system doing the finding, the writing, the timing, and the chasing. We call it founder augmentation: you, amplified, running the same leadership method we have taught for years, now wired into software that does the doing.
We are not the only ones who get to run this. You do too.
